Tate Publishing Offers
Second Book Contract
A couple of weeks ago I announced the submission of my second book manuscript to Tate Publishing. Much faster than I expected, they have offered me a contract on Morning Whispers: Inspiring Devotions to Start Your Day (title subject to change), which will enter production in the coming weeks. Having worked with Tate Publishing on Good to the Last Drop, I couldn't be more pleased. Tate produced a visually appealing, high quality product and has worked with me to book events and promote the book. To have them publish a second book is icing on the cake!
Because of the generous investment that Tate Publishing makes in the production and marketing of each new book it publishes, their standard contract calls for a modest upfront investment from the author on first books, which Tate Publishing refunds to the author after author sells a certain number of copies. On subsequent books, the investment is not required if sales goals on the previous book are met. Since I am still working toward accomplishing that benchmark with Good to the Last Drop, I will be required to pay the upfront investment for the publication of Morning Whispers. To that end, I ask you to join me in praying for God's swift provision.
Because the size of the submitted manuscript exceeded the word limit set by the publisher, rather than publish this as a 366-day devotional we will split the book in half and publish an initial volume of undated devotionals, similar to the way we published Good to the Last Drop. This book will be marketed to men and women (thus the possible name change) and will leave the door open for a third book consisting of the other 180+ devotionals. Personally, I am really excited about the possibilities!
We serve a big God who is able to make all grace abound, so that in all things at all times, having all that we need, we will abound in every good work (2 Corinthians 9:8). I trust that He will work out all the details according to His good, pleasing, and perfect will.
Please join me in praying for the following:
1. That God will supply the funds needed for this second book, as well as marketing and ministry activities associated with my first book, Good to the Last Drop.
2. That God will provide additional income needed through part-time employment and/or consulting work as well as increased book sales. For more information on my administrative support and consulting services, visit www.deedeewike.com/admin_consulting.
3. That God will provide ministry opportunities, speaking engagements, and increased book sales for Good to the Last Drop.
4. That God would receive the honor and glory in every aspect of my writing and speaking ministry and that many lives would be changed.
